The first step in a garden design is always to have a conversation with the owners of the garden. For us, it is an opportunity to go for a field visit and determine what can be done. We are particularly interested in the kind of architectural elements the client wants, how the garden will be used and the general aesthetics the client prefers. The more information we get during the research stage the better design we can create. The initial project can be then adjusted to the client?s wishes. The process of agreeing on the final version can take a few weeks or a few months – everything depends on the size and character of the area I design.
